Bringing Clinically-Informed Pain Management Tools to XR Rehab

At AVRwell, our mission is to deliver rehabilitation tools that are both clinically effective and engaging for patients. With that goal in mind, we’re excited to announce the release of our Wellness Suite, featuring three immersive XR experiences:

  • Breathe XR

  • Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR)

  • Soundscape Distraction

Clinical Roots: Developed in Partnership with VA Therapists

The XR Relief Suite is built on years of collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and clinical specialists at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

While developing these apps, our team worked closely with VA clinicians—meeting regularly to gather feedback, fine-tune experiences, and ensure each activity met the real-world needs of rehab professionals and their patients.

The result: apps that have been deployed across VA facilities nationwide, helping veterans manage stress, reduce pain, and support emotional well-being during their rehabilitation journey.

What’s Included in the XR Relief Suite

  • Breathe XR
A guided diaphragmatic breathing exercise that uses visual breathing cues and audio pacing to help patients slow their breath, activate parasympathetic pathways, and reduce anxiety or pain.

  • Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR)
A stepwise experience guiding patients through tension and release cycles across key muscle groups—supporting relaxation, body awareness, and stress management.

  • Soundscape Distraction
An immersive multi-sensory experience designed to help shift attention away from discomfort. Patients can explore calming visual environments layered with dynamic soundscapes—making it ideal for pain distraction, anxiety reduction, or simple relaxation between therapy sessions.

Now Available for Clinics and XR Health Platforms

Until now, these tools were only available through large institutional deployments like the VA. With this launch, individual clinics, rehab centers, and XR healthcare platforms can license the XR Relief Suite directly.

The apps are now available for deployment through leading Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms, including ArborXR and ManageXR.

This makes it easy for:

  • Small to mid-sized PT and OT clinics running their own headsets

  • Health systems and networks with managed XR fleets

  • All-in-one XR healthcare platforms looking to expand their app catalog with clinically proven wellness content

We’re also proud to share that Invincikids is the first XR health platform to add the XR Relief Suite for its users—bringing these tools to more clinicians and patients across their growing network.
